Dr Brett Moore’s Bio
Brett Moore, DDS was born and grew up in Minnesota, being raised in Eden Prairie and graduating from Eden Prairie High School in 2002 as valedictorian of his class.
He is a very proud Wisconsin Badger supporter having attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison, Wisconsin and graduated with honors in 2006 with a Bachelor of Sciences in Zoology.
Once he finished his undergrad, Dr. Moore wanted to return to his roots and decided to attend The School of Dentistry at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, from where he graduated in 2010. He joined the U.S. Navy upon completion of dental school and served in the military as a Dental Officer for four years on active military duty and continued as a Reserve Dental Officer upon leaving active duty. During his time in the military, Dr. Moore chose to further his dental education by undertaking an additional one-year residency through an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at U.S. Naval Hospital Portsmouth, VA. The remainder of his time in the U.S. Navy was spent stationed in Norfolk, VA both at a shore-based dental clinic and aboard various ships. The majority of which was aboard the USS Harry S Truman providing dental care to sailors and marines. Upon completion of his commitment to the U.S. Navy, Dr. Moore and his family wanted to return to Minnesota to practice dentistry and be closer to the family. Dr. Moore joined the team at Smile Design Dentistry in August of 2014 and he became a partner in the practice in January of 2016.

He spent ten months learning all facets of implant treatment planning, placement and restorations in a comprehensive curriculum culminating in earning the first step in his Associate Fellowship in the AAID. More recently he completed 100 hours through the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in the Contemporary Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry course. Over the course of seven months, Dr. Moore worked hands-on with materials and techniques to produce beautiful dentistry for his patients to enjoy and use for years to come. Combining these large-scale courses with the study groups and more short-term continuing education, Dr. Moore works tirelessly to stay up to date and provide the best possible dentistry to his patients.

When Dr. Moore isn’t in the clinic he enjoys spending time with his family. He married his wife, Thrya, in December of 2010 and together they raise their three kids in Maple Grove. Home life is busy with 5-year-old Leona, 3-year-old Amelia and the newest addition Miles. Most weekends are spent looking for family activities to get everyone moving outside. He enjoys all things outdoors: running, biking, swimming, camping, boating, skiing…you name it and they like to try it. One of the most recent highlights was getting Miles on his first camping trip at the ripe age of 3 months to see the total eclipse in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Moore highly recommends anyone who is able to try and see the next eclipse, definitely a worthwhile experience. Another favorite pastime of Dr. Moore is telling wonderfully hilarious Dad jokes. And lucky for his patients, this pastime isn’t exclusive to out of the dental clinic. If you are lucky you may get to hear a few of the gems as you pass the time in the dental chair!
